Not quite finished last chapter of The Wild Ways. So... damned... close...

February blogging may be called on account of deadlining. Maybe not. But probably.

As a place holder, have a link to an interview the beloved and I did for Out Visions spring edition. Click on "Fantasy Fulfilled" and it'll download a PDF. I haven't read it because I ( Read more... )

Is "The Wild Ways" the title of Charlie Gale's story (from the Enchantment Emporium)?

... because I like to get my book orders in to my local Sci-Fi bookshop as early as possible - especially for my favourite authors!

To ebook or not? anonymous February 27 2011, 09:20:23 UTC
I bought a Kindle and am unhappy about the authors and earlier works that are not available. I found a few other download-ebook sites but your Vicki Nelson titles are just not anywhere. (Glad to see the later ones.) Is this a choice you deliberately made or is it a negotiation process with publisher(s)? I'd rather pay for ebooks that you get royalties from than Marketplace or other used book sources that you wont. If you've already answered this question more times than you care to, I'm sorry, but as I said, the issue is new to me. Thanks for years of enjoyment. FAM
[Also, I don't know where to put this question except where I did. Sorry if I'm not playing in the right box.]

Books that came out before about 2006 have no ebook clause in the contract -- because the ebook market, as it exists now, didn't exist. Therefore the contract has to be renegoitated involving agents and editors and the publisher's legal department. This takes time, especially given that the legal department is involved.

Then, after all that is sorted out, signed and countersigned and probably delayed in the mail while crossing international borders, the actual book has to be converted to an ebook format(s). Because the first Blood book came out in 1991, they're converting from paper. This takes LOTS of time.

BUT I just got word from my agent that the whole thing will be done in about another three weeks so hang in there!

And don't worry about boxes, the latest post is the BEST place to put questions.
