A question about writing if you have time to address it - do you write in a straight line, and/or with an outline?

I write in a straight line. I start at the beginning and write every scene sequentially through to the end. (with a few detours back to tweak things). No outline, merely the single page pitch my agent uses to sell the book.

Apropos of nothing except I haven't been in LJ lately and therefore have not "seen" you - I am *loving* the new book that Joey sent me! Wow. Funky. Can't *wait* to find out what the heck is going on!! Miss you.

I'm definitley building a framework of a house this month... the editing is going to be a little intense but I think I may actually get it done which is better than last year's NaNo attempt. This year I used an outline so there have been a few brick laid in the foundation...

I like the metaphor :)
