ANTICIPATION -- The 2009 Montreal Worldcon

As I have mentioned before, I will not be going to Anticipation (the 2009 Montreal Worldcon) next weekend.  The beloved, Fiona Patton, and I mostly trade off Worldcons so one of us is home with the animals.  This means, as some of you have undoubtedly surmised by now, that Fiona is attending this year.

You do realize that being passionately in love with another woman is far from mainstream. It's also charming and delightful, and may it go on for decades to come.

Sorry to hear you can't make world con this year. If only hotels were more pet friendly. (Maybe a convention pet owners can take their beasts to?)

Of course your relationship with Fiona makes me wonder about fandom. What is it about science fiction and fantasy that draws those of other orientations? Not only alternate sexual expressions, but people like Zoe, who was Alan just a bit over 3 years ago, and started on her transition thanks to cholesterol medication.

Now there's a story; one of Grandma's toys (from Enchantment Emporium ends up catching a young man, and we follow his adventures as he is transformed to her.

Which leads to another possibility, but let's leave the question of a shared universe ala Eric Flint's Ring of Fire series for another time.

Makes me feel a whole lot better about the Easter we had fourteen rabbits - the result of a very cute, innocent - who, me? - incredibly young buck rabbit (allegedly too young to go to the vet) getting up close and VERY personal with two adult does. We ended up ankle deep in bunnies - and Junior got hopped round to the vet, double quick!

Here's the thing, it is safer for me to remain unaware of fanfic based on my stuff. I personally consider it to be a compliment and you may go forth and fic to your heart's content but I can't know about it.

Should there ever be a legal challenge, I don't want any of us to be involved.

Here's the thing, you give your permission there can be no viable legal challenge to it. And it creates a community pre-sold on more EE books. :)

Even better, you get to maintain control over your own world.
