Blood Ties delayed

After posting yesterday that season one of Blood Ties will be out on June 2nd, this morning I find Google alerts has scooped up an announcement that it'll be delayed until the 23rd of June.  No reason given.   This is what I read.

THE ENCHANTMENT EMPORIUM, however, will still be out on time.

If I thought profanity would help I'd drop it here but it doesn't so...
Seriously, first they split up the full season into 2 DVD's there by allowing them to haul in doubt the profit (we get to pay twice) and now they are delaying the release. How long does it take to pull together 22 already completed episodes, edit a few interviews and meld them into a few disc's? Good lord! Guess I'll just have to keep reading instead of watching DVD's!

It's not putting them together, it's the problems that come with international distribution.

Pfui about the delay for the DVD. It's already been delayed, what, at least a year? I dimly recall your saying two Windycons ago that it would be out the following June.

But yay! for the good review. Of course it got a good review. You write good books. (BIG YAY! that the good review was in Publisher's Weekly.)

Whenever the DVDs actually come out, I will be buying them. It's great to hear you got another good review. (I'm not reading it before I read the book.) I'm scheduled to work on the 6th but am going to try very hard to get the day off. It's been too long since I've seen you.

Very disappointing :-( I guess I'll have to add another three weeks to my countdown time. I thought that by pre-ordering, I wouldn't have to be so anxious about getting the DVD as soon as it came out; so much for that plan...

BTW - I just read "Blood Wrapped" and loved it!! But it left me jonesing for more Henry/Tony/Lee/Vicki/Mike or any combination thereof. I bought "Many Bloody Returns" primarily for that story. Have you changed your mind about writing any more Blood and/or Smoke books? I am so desperate for more that I would pay the full hardcover price :-)

I saw another announcement that it hasn't been delayed. Who knows anymore. sigh

There will definitely be no more Blood books. It's been over ten years since the last one. There will be more stories though -- I just finished two and I'll let people know as soon as I have a pub date. As for more Smoke books... I'd like to do another maybe, sort of, ish, but the farther away we get, the less likely it gets. There are more stories in that 'verse too though.

For U.S. residents - I have a Netflix account and put Blood Ties in my queue even though I'm purchasing the set as well. It's not costing me anything to get them through Netflix while I wait for my order, so why not, especially if it boosts Blood Ties' visibility? According to my account, the first disc has been shipped already for estimated arrival tomorrow! I can't wait! I guess I better return the other DVDs I have out, so I can get the rest of the BT set as soon as possible :-)

I'm getting my own DVD set through Barnes & Noble and, as of today, the shipping date is still June 2nd, so maybe whatever was causing the delay has been resolved...
