Right now there is another part of this universe posted: Stuck Between All Things, but that story is strictly Sulu/Chekov. You do not need to read that story to follow further installments of this series, so don't sweat it if you're not interested in that pairing.

I'm still working on more of the Mc/K and U/S scenes right at the moment.

Oh, thank you so much. This is one of the nicest comments on my writing I've ever received, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate being made to feel like I'm doing something right with this series.

And AUs with different rules and social mores and ideals and customs always fascinate me, and adding kink to that just skyrockets the appeal factor for me.

I actually had just intended to write a McCoy/Kirk PWP, but the need to explore the characters in this world ended up taking over.

Ok, this may sound stupid, but how does anyone know who is a sub or dom unless it's a sub wearing a collar? I mean since Spock is wearing a collar and he's with Uhura then it would be inferred that she was a dom. But how do other people know as far as Kirk and Bones? Did they announce it to everyone? Or is this something they have to list with a registry that everyone reads or what? I'm sorry if this is something that should be obvious but I don't know anything about this sort of thing.

It doesn't sound stupid at all. I didn't really go into it yet, but it's a mix of things that bring people to know. In this world, being a sub, a Dom, or a switch is just as simple a thing to talk about as being right-handed, left-handed, or ambidextrous.

Also, Jim Kirk has slept with his fair amount of cadets, and word does get around. Especially when a lot of people hold the opinion that a starship captain ought to be a Dom, at best, or at least a switch in a serious relationship or a collared sub. So it's something a lot of people end up gossiping about. "Jim Kirk? A sub without a collar? He was made captain?" That sort of thing ( ... )
