In memoriam: Lisa Schmidt, lourdesmont

My friend Lisa Schmidt passed away of pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, August 26, at one am. Her brother Jeff just called me to let me know. ((Hugs)) to you dear. This is so very hard for me, and I only knew her for such a small time. You were friends with her for so long.

She now has a joy like she has never known.

Somehow, the rest of us must pick up and move on. We will never forget her.

It's true, she has a joy that we can only imagine, but we are left here, in the world of suffering, to miss her and mourn what kinship we might have forged in the fullness of time.

I am still going to count on meeting her at that big party in the sky when we're all dead and we can party together, in joy and love.

She loved you for your friendship. That's what you did for each other. We are beings capable of being kind, that should be what we are most often. You are lucky to have had such a friend.

I told her brother that we were all sorry for his loss and that he should give her sister Paula and his wife and Shannon hugs from us. I figured since none of us could be there in person...
