The park held some of KwangMin's best memories, which is why he walked here now, the sun all but gone, the dim lights on along the path. It was too late for children to be out. He'd counted on that, and it pleased him to have the place alone.

Sort of. Usually he walked here at this time with his girlfriend, and today had been a gauntlet of "where is she?" at school. He kept explaining that they'd broken up, leaving out the part where he got dumped, although that would probably be around the school tomorrow, which just made it all worse.

It wasn't that he'd expected it to last so much as he'd hoped it'd last more than two months. She'd been able to tell the difference between him and YoungMin - something their teachers couldn't even do - and it had given him hope. Especially when his brother had tried to take his place on a date, one night he was running late. She'd actually come really close to slapping him (and he wished he could have seen that).

So that train of thought didn't help his already bad mood, and he shoved his hands in his pockets, head bowed as he walked the darkish paths of the small park.

A laugh rang out and he looked up, eyes widening in disbelief. Of all the… why had she come here? Because she was obviously pulling JungMin along the path, laughing at him, the upperclassman following with a smile KwangMin had heard about from others. Never from her.

Turning away, he fumbled for his phone, dialing the first number he came across that wasn't YoungMin's (because YoungMin would do something stupid, like get in a fight, and that's not what he wanted).

"Hello?"

"Minwoo?" KwangMin asked, speeding up as her laughter followed after him. "Are you busy?"

"Um… why?"

"I need somewhere to be that isn't home right now, I'm not up to an interrogation from either my mom or YoungMin."

"You can come here. What happened?"

No, his sorrow over this wasn't endless, and wouldn't be. This wasn't even the first time it'd happened to him, but that didn't actually make it any easier on him. "Oh, just ran into her and her new boyfriend." And it hurt, no matter that they'd only been dating two months and he'd never had an indication that she wasn't happy.

"Are you sure it's her new boyfriend?"

On the edge of the park, KwangMin turned around just in time to catch the kiss. "Yes," he said, speeding up even faster. "I'm sure."

"I'll see you when you get here. Be safe, I don't want to have to call YoungMin and tell him you died due to complications of a broken heart."

"What? Where do you… never mind, I'll talk to you when I see you." He hung up after they said good-bye, his heart lighter for such a good friend -

And because he couldn't hear her laughter any more.
