HyoYoung opened her eyes wide and wished for once - just once - she had more control over her power. She knew all about sex, had known before she was ready (and she still wasn’t), but her power didn’t care about that. She didn’t want to learn about it from people she knew and would have to face during the day. Like… her teacher.
Maybe the worst part wasn’t that, she decided later that morning at breakfast when she caught sight of Taewoon and her face went the brightest red she’d ever felt. HwaYoung looked at her, startled, but didn’t say anything as they sat down, and HyoYoung focused as hard as she could on her food.
Having the power she did meant she got to see all of life, the good and the bad. But last night…. Last night she’d been treated to the most beautiful thing in the world, an expression of love between HyoYoung’s teacher and her lover. She wanted suddenly, desperately, to have someone look at her like that some day, see her and not the knowledge her power could bring her partner. Finding someone like that would be hard at best, impossible at worst, but it didn’t stop….
“HyoYoung-ah, are you okay?”
She looked up and nearly gaped in disbelief at the look in her boyfriend’s eyes. Had she really been that blind all along? Because if that look wasn’t exactly like Yesung’s, from last night, it was close enough for her. “Y-yeah,” she stammered, and went back to her breakfast. “Just… vivid dreams.”
“Anything bad?”
“No,” she said. “Just… close by.”
She ignored HwaYoung’s speculation as to who she might have seen - until her twin crowed in delight when Narsha walked in to their first class and HyoYoung went even redder than she had at breakfast.
