Summary: If he hadn’t been so tall, maybe the heels wouldn’t have been, either.

"What?" Maggie asked, and looked at the heels the wardrobe person had given her.
"For your next assignment."
"My next…." She shut her mouth and bowed, taking the shoes to a chair to try them on, everything hazy. Of course they fit; the measurements these people had taken when she'd first arrived had been extensive. VERY. However, having spent two years on a horse ranch, with no reason to wear heels higher than an inch, and then another year in SoCal working at an aquarium, so no reason to wear heels at all. And now… she was supposed to dance in these? Really? How?
Slowly, she stood up, carefully balanced, and found herself staring at… a chest. Startled, she looked up, and her eyes widened in disbelief. "This is your fault?" she blurted to the young man she'd last seen standing at the stereo when she'd been practicing BoA's "Only One". At least now she knew him - if only because DBSK only had two members. Then she clapped a hand over her mouth even as he smiled.
"Yes," he said. "My fault."
In English.
Oh, great. Really.
"That will do," the wardrobe lady said. "Thank you, ChangMin."
He bowed to her, then grinned, winked at Maggie, and strode from the room.
"None of that made ANY sense," Maggie complained to JaHyun sometime later as the woman helped her walk down the hallway, balancing on the high heels. "What was that?"
JaHyun laughed. "The wardrobe lady was checking to make sure the shoes made you tall enough. ChangMin's one of the tallest here."
"But… what am I missing? No one explained why I was supposed to show up, why she was measuring me against him, anything."
JaHyun smiled. "He needs someone to dance with for his solo for DBSK's upcoming tour. BoA recommended you."
Maggie stared at her, then had to focus back on her feet when her ankle wobbled. "… Oh."
But this wasn't what YiXing had meant, was it? About rising to power when someone saw a Kirin? How could it?
