Kris liked being back at SM, even if most of the rest of the group in his half of EXO didn't. It felt more like home than the building they practiced in when they lived in China. Being in Seoul also allowed him to consult with JunMyeon on various things - for example, JunMyeon had much more experience in dealing with pranksters (not naming any names) than Kris, and a few of his had started to emulate Chanyeol once they left the country.
"It is her," Tao said, and the heads of the Mandarin-speaking half of EXO went up like… No, not dogs. Wolves. They looked like sharks sensing blood in the water.
"Her?" Kris asked warily with an apologetic look at JunMyeon, who shrugged with a smile.
Tao reached through the mass of bodies between them - the rest of the group knew enough by now to get out of the way and had already started to move - and grabbed kris's wrist. By the time Tao yanked him into motion, he had a space to move through (which meant he wouldn't trip over anyone smaller than him. Which was just about everyone). Apparently, this happened more than Kris realized. "Wait!" he said.
Tao ignored him, of course, dragging him down a small side hallway. Ahead of them they could see what must be a small group of fairly new female trainees, and one of them had red hair that looked… actually familiar? Tao let him go and planted himself in front of her. "Have you been practicing?" he demanded, sounding… a lot like Kris himself.
Maggie decided that maybe this idea of coming to learn to be an idol was not so good when she slammed into yet another body. She staggered back and went down. Again. "Wh…" She clapped a hand over her mouth. No English today. It was about killing her.
"I'm sorry!" Tao - Tao?! - said, crouching down next to her, offering a hand to help her up. Maggie took the hand and he hauled her to her feet with the same ease that the other guy (Youngwoon. Super Junior. Right.) had. "Where are you going?"
The fall had knocked all the Korean (no, hangeul) right out of her head again. "Lunch," she said, giving up. "What are you doing here?"
"We work here," Kris said from behind her, and she turned, bowing almost automatically. "What are you doing here?"
"Um… so do I?" she ventured.
She watched Kris and Tao exchange a look. "Lunch sounds good," Tao said, and Kris sighed. So this was the kid that cried at the drop of a hat. Apparently he did more than that.
Well, she thought as she fell in behind the other trainees, following them with the two giants on either side of her, this was better than the last time she'd run into someone. Right?
