TaeWoon knew, as soon as the twins showed up for dinner, that he wasn't going to be in as much trouble as he thought. Yes, they looked alike, and he found it rather amusing when he saw SungMin's eyes go huge, but he knew which was his girlfriend.
"You're laughing at us," HyoYoung said.
"No, actually, I was laughing at SungMin," he said, gesturing to where his friend was still staring at them. "You're going to confuse a lot of people."
"But not you," HwaYoung said.
Taewoon tilted his head. "I don't know," he said. "But so far, no."
HyoYoung put her hand on his, and his heart twisted in knots again. "It only gets easier with time and proximity," she said.
"Oh, but I'm sure we can try," HwaYoung said.
TaeWoon laughed. "I hope you don't," he said. "I've embarrassed myself enough with your sister."
HyoYoung smiled at him. "But you made up for it."
HwaYoung didn't respond, but her look at him promised an interrogation. He managed to smile at her anyway.
"You should know that she'll know about this, most likely," he told HwaYoung the next day when she showed up at his practice.
HwaYoung blinked at him. "You're that arrogant?" she asked.
He shook his head. "No, not that. Well, sometimes, but not in this case. She can't help it; she sees everything. I think half the people that came here after her are here because she found them. I'm not certain. But you are," he said.
HwaYoung stared at him. "She saw that accident?" she asked.
"We were studying," Taewoon said. "Scared her to death." Scared me, he didn't say, but he thought she might understand that, too.
"You really like her."
Taewoon flushed. "Yeah," he said. "I do."
"I don't have to threaten you, then, do I?"
He laughed. "No, I do that plenty myself," he said.
"Good. So. What exactly are you doing here?" she asked, and relieved, he launched into an explanation of his training regimen to keep HyoYoung as safe as he could.
