Title: Service - so to speak
Fic: Super Junior 100 challenge # 23/100
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Geng, Ryeowook

Prompt: 071: Plays (theatre) - Hankyung/Ryeowook
Disclaimer: Not mine, not true.
Summary: Ryeowook is chosen, and Geng can do nothing.
Writer's note: Based in a massive undertaking I started in April for Script Frenzy and attempted to novelize in summerwrite. It didn't happen. However, as I have this world set up, I'm going to play in it. The master list of fics (including the order) is found here.
Other fics in this arc: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven

They were helpless, and they all knew it.

That didn't stop Ryeowook, panicked and frightened and far too young to be in this hellhole, from trying to hide as soon as Kangin's pet jailer came in to their rooms. Except there was no where to hide, so he huddled, in as small a ball as he could manage, at Geng's back.

Not that it helped. The man stood in the main room, his voice booming through the plush furnishings - no where to hide from it, either.

"The master is attending a play this evening. He will require company when he returns."

Silence answered him, but Geng could hear him moving through the rooms. "It's okay," he murmured to the shivering boy behind him.

But the moment the man stopped in the doorway, he knew he'd lied. It would never be okay to watch the man - impartial, without passions, without feelings - walk Ryeowook away to get him ready for Kangin-ssi, hand firm but gentle on the boy’s arm.

Ryeowook didn't struggle - pointless exercise - and he didn't look back to ask for help.

Which made Geng feel even more helpless, because he should be able to help.

Somehow.
