Wait, okay, we've been friends for a little while now, and there are some things I didn't know about you that are TOTALLY AWESOME.
Firstly, you play the cello? It is my favourite instrument to listen to, in any way, shape, or form. I have always regretted not taking it up.
And while your love of Jack's Mannequin doesn't surprise me (it's relatively close to bandom, after all, and they have toured with FOB) - the Fratellis? Really?
In short: You are even more awesome than I previously thought!
(Just out of curiosity, though - do you find that a lot of people have a problem with your age?)
I started playing the cello in sixth grade after I went to the symphony and couldn't stop watching the first-chair cellist all night, seriously. I was all obnoxious about it to my mother, like, "MOM I WANT TO START NOW" and everything. Playing it has improved my ear A LOT, omg. It's been hugely useful in my choir shenanigans and in playing guitar.
Really really! My friend sent me the YouTube link to "Chelsea Dagger" like, a year ago? And I'm ridiculously in love with them now.
Thank you! You are pretty damn spiffy as well.
(I've had people defriend when they find out how young I am and such. It also bothers me a little when people are all OHAI18+ ONLY on their journals. Because usually they seem pretty cool and I'll want desperately to be their friend, but I'm young so I'm easily corrupted or something? I like it more when people take the time to get to know me first, rather than judging by when my parents decided to procreate.)
I play violin because in third grade I went to a concert - and it was just a school concert, not even anything fancy - and I was so impressed by how fast their fingers moved. I thought it was really impressive. I'm learning bass guitar, now, too, which is kinda awesome but sort of frustrating to have to think in another key all of a sudden. (I'm trying to learn so it's not just tabs, you see.)
The Fratellis are kinda awesome. I missed buying tickets to see them at this big music festival here - Splendour in the Grass - along with The Wombats and Vampire Weekend. (Hear of either of them?)
I don't think I've ever been called spiffy before, so thank you.
(I'm with you entirely on the age thing. I'm under 18, and it drives me crazy. I'm not going to be totally scarred by anything you happen to write about on your lj - I've got free run of the internet at this point, so I'm pretty immune. And I agree with you about getting to know people first - you, for one, have seemed much older than 14 since I "met" you.)
I was used to playing in bass clef for the cello, so switching to treble for choir and guitar was ridiculously hard.
I've heard of both the Wombats and Vampire Weekend. : D
You are very welcome.
(Yeah, really. I mean, I discovered literocita.com when I was, like. 10? *hides* I have already been corrupted by bandom and my parents' openess about sexual things so much that basically nothing freaks me out. And hey, thanks. I feel older than 14, sometimes, too. :] )

I'm usually on the Mac, and I can't get AIM on here. But if I'm on the other computer, AIM is the default setting, so. I'll add you.
