Kate's food is waiting for her when she gets back. She notices Clint's hunched shoulders and nudges him with her elbow as she sits down beside him. "Hey," she says. "I've never seen someone look so pensive over such tasty looking food."

Glancing up from his plate, Clint spares Kate a smile more genuine than he'd been able to muster for the friendly waitress who'd brought him their food.

"Just waiting for you kid."

"You realize I'm almost old enough to drink?" Kate asks in the defensive way of young people who want to be taken seriously and seem older than they are. Especially when the person calling them "kid" is one of the people they want most to take them seriously.

She smells her food before getting started on it.
