[Yosuke is sitting on his pallet, looking at the feed. Schneizel's pup, Blanca, is lying behind him. Her head is on her paws and she looks as sad as any wolf pup you've seen. Yosuke, for his part, looks extremely worried.]

Has anyone seen Schneizel? He wasn't at his croft this morning, and Blanca followed me home... she never does that...

[Schnitzel with Noodles? Come to think of it, he remembers Yosuke talking about him on Noblegarden, too.]

Maybe he's out somewhere. And maybe the dog is lonely.

[Yosuke looks at Blanca. Aaron had given that puppy to Schneizel. She'd been the same as his big direwolf, he'd said. Still... maybe she really was just being lonely...]

I don't even know if he can fight, man. He never seems to leave the village.

[He scruffs up his hair, looking worried.]

[Saki's answering face is a bit pale, her eyes a bit lidded -- but Yosuke gets her full attention regardless.]

I dunno. It's not like him to just wander off. Especially with his wolf.

[He rubs the back of his neck, sighing, and then frowns a little as he looks at Saki.]

Hey - senpai, are you okay?

[But more importantly,] he has a wolf?

You sure? You look sorta... [He moves his hands in front of his face and pulls a queasy expression.] Y'know. Sick.

[But she's already talking over him, and he blinks.] Huh? Oh, yeah. [He shifts to the side and shows the huge mass of white fur that is Blanca.]

There was this kid here - Aaron. He's not here anymore, but he brought her from the place he was before. She sort of got attached to Schneizel...

I haven't seen Schneizel today, no.

[ And it bothers her infinitely more with both Yosuke's revelation of his absence from his croft this morning and the combination of Blanca's disclosed behavior and evident emotion, the latter more so if only because she knows that Blanca is just as attuned, if not more so, to Schneizel as Geri is to her. That Geri did much the same as Blanca insofar as seeking out company familiar to her when she vanished from Demeleier isn't a comforting thought and she finds her stomach twisting with an underlying sense of dread that has her pushing herself up from the desk at which she was working rather abruptly, her grip tightening on the communicator. ]

I'll look for him. Geri should be able to pick up his scent easily -- [ if he's here, and she swallows at that thought, pushing it away forcibly in a bid to sound more composed than she feels because, really, again? ] -- so try not to worry too much, okay? Schneizel is a formidable man. [ Now if only she could be sure she wasn't trying to reassure herself in

[ Though she hasn't heard his name said in some time and the utterance of such strikes a match in her mind, bringing to fore all manner of questions and insights that she pushes aside. She's on the move now, if the accompanying movement of her person and the background is any indication. ]

Well, he came in with a huge wolf. Like, this thing was as big as a horse or something. And it was like... augh I don't know how to say this in a way that doesn't sound really dumb, but... [He scruffs up his hair and sighs.] It was like it was bonded to him, you know? Like it could feel what he felt and... stuff...

[He trails off. God that sounds so dumb. As dumb as a fox selling leaves to a bunch of teenagers who jump into tvs and fight crime.]

Anyway, I think Blanca is the same thing as that wolf. Aaron brought her in and she just sort of... attached to him.

The tall, blond, well-spoken gentlemen, right? [ Cid's just trying to be sure there wasn't someone else with that name. She's not the best with them, when her acquaintances are only casual. The woman has spoken with a lot of people over her lifetime, after all, and sometimes names just don't click. ]
