I just recently found this story and I'm already in love with it. The show rarely, if evers, shows the aftermath of what many would consider life-changing events, which I think paves the way for some really good fanfiction, like yours. It's excellent and I can't wait to read more.

It's sometimes hard to tell whether the writers simply don't consider the implications of, say, being buried alive, or shooting a fellow officer, or whether they leave it to us to assume that the coping happens offscreen so as not to make too much of a soap opera. Either way, it leaves a lot of room to fill in the blanks. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!

*happy sigh* I love the relationship you're building here. It's so quiet, and gentle, and warm. Exactly what I imagine both of them needing, and being able to give each other. Your Sara and Nick are perfectly recognizable, and I really appreciate the care you take to breathe life into them, and into their relationship.

I really hope you write more for this series.

I'm so glad you liked this, and a huge thank you for taking the time to let me know. One of the reasons updates are sometimes far between for this is that I've tried and rejected about five different ways things could go in order to get the one that feels best for the characters, so it's great to know that other people find that it fits them.

Oh, I definitely know how that can be. I often end up scrapping several versions of my own fic before settling on the one that feels just right.

I was poking about on fanfiction.net the other day, and stumbled across a very short, unhappy (but nicely written) Nick/Sara fic. My interest piqued, I went hunting for more of the pairing. I found an utterly terrifying number of "omg nick & sara get married and have lots of babies!" fics. I was afraid the nicksara LJ community would be the same. Thank you for proving my fears wrong.

Your work is the first well-written Nick/Sara series I've seen. Your characters are in character, and the slow progression of their relationship is beautiful. I love the the character interaction in "Curtain Call" (I want to steal the expression "a play called Okay"), and the way Sara indirectly reveals the truth about her family is perfect. I can't wait to see more. :)

I have found some really well-done Nick/Sara fics both here and on ff.net, but you're right, there's an awful lot of out-of-character romantic comedy/romantic drama stuff. I'm not always sure I haven't fallen into that trap, despite my best efforts, so it's good to know that other people find this series believable as well.

Would you happen to have any recs for Nick/Sara fics you've enjoyed? I don't read a lot of Nick/Sara because it's a little intimidating to wade through the archives looking for the (comparatively) few gems, but I do really enjoy the pairing.

I'm not on my usual computer at the moment, so I don't have all my bookmarks, but on ff.net there's an author with the penname Astralis whose Nick/Sara stuff works for me. I just looked up their profile page, it's here: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/404691/ I'm fairly sure I've followed some of their favourites links and found other fics I've enjoyed, but I couldn't tell you which ones they are off the top of my head.

I agree, it's kind of daunting looking through the mountains of rough to find a few diamonds. If you have any Nick/Sara recs of your own, I'd love to check them out!

i flove it. sara's comment about letting nick know about the nightmares was really her, this story is so in character and i flove it. and then ending was cute
