[When the PDA turns on, it's met with the concerned face of a thin, blond soldier crouching over it. Decked in an olive military uniform, his youthful face hardly seems old - or mature - enough to be donning such responsibility. The boy quietly clears his throat, his voice is muted as if afraid he'll be found by someone nearby, but firm enough to ( Read more... )

Wouldn't really call it being captured so much as kidnapped someplace weird, yeah? But there's no exit.

[He heard the first part, but no exit?]

No exit?! That's impossible. What happens if you just... keep walking?

[Seems like a fine idea to him. They could all migrate back home slowly, a little at a time...]

Starve to death.

Either that or the wild animals might get you.

It's that far, huh. Fuck...

[He's not afraid of wild animals, living in the wilderness for most of your life fixes that quickly. But he won't question that they're stuck in the middle of nowhere...]

We survive well enough stealing from the nearby town when necessary.

[He flinches. In the war, his unit was forced to shoot civilians who stole from their base. Now he's in the opposite position.]

That's the only way?! There's nothing else we can do?!

It's almost fall and winter comes to Russia quickly, we don't have any seeds for growing anyway. [He's not sure what happened to Alma's garden.] But we're getting some donations from a "church" set up over there as well.

[Now Kiriko looks extremely bothered. Right, the winter...]

Anyone here ever lived through a Russian winter before?! I hope you've got a food storage already started. Looks like I have my work cut out for me already..

I've never been in Russia during winter myself but I know how bad it's supposed to be. Allen - one of the people here - he's been through one before and so have several others, I arrived just as spring started to show up.

As for storage... I always put aside some of my daily rations for it and I've been saving money from the day laborer jobs I get deep in Credinta. But I don't know what the others have been doing.

I've been in a similar winter, and yeah. It's bad. I hope we'll be ready.

[He wonders if he'll be able to barter for food somehow so late into the year.

This man is wealthy with information... no one told him it was possible to make money somehow. Good to know.

And this is probably a long shot, but he wants to make sure.]

Allen... Hey, what's his last name?

Thought as much. Old man was wary about us taking missions up there.

[Lavi's been there a while but he's no where near as informative as Allen might be.]

It's Walker. Why?

[Kiriko breathes a sigh of relief and nods.]

Just checking. I have a friend who was with me with the same name, I just wanted to be sure...

Who are you, anyway? I guess that should have come first, sorry.

Sometimes folks from your home will turn up and sometimes they won't. Or if they do there's a chance they might not remember you right, yeah?

[Hums a bit.] It's alright, name's Lavi. No last name.

I hope they don't. Thankfully it's not the same guy, but.. I don't think I'd want him to show up in the first place. Especially if he didn't remember me.

[So people can come from different points in their lives, too? This girl and her master are freaks.]

Hey, Lavi. It's Kiriko George. But you can just call me Kiriko, Doc, whatever.

Not exactly friends with your Allen?

[Nods and grins a little.] Nice to meet you, Kiriko. The "Doc" from being medical?

and_above_all October 3 2011, 21:01:50 UTC
You kidding? He's my best friend. I just.. wouldn't want him to be here, after all the shit he's gone through.

Yeah. "Doc" as in "medic." For now. When I get out of here, I'm going to finish my MD.

[If he ever gets out of here..]
