You know what? Yeah, better than I thought I would. It helps to know you're not alone.

[Just like the war, he guesses. But remembering he had something to say to Yukio, he suddenly blurts out excitedly:]

Your brother told me you were a Doctor! You should have told me before, Yukio!

[He blinks for a moment at the exclamation, but then smiles.]

At home most people already know, so I guess I'm just not used to advertising.

But you're so young... that's.. wow! Guess you're kinda like me, then.

[He was always out of place with the other med students, sometimes being ten, twenty years younger than his peers.]

[Yukio looks appropriately humble, but doesn't seem flustered by the attention. He's gotten used to the excited whispers and exclamations that follow him sometimes at home. He's only fifteen, after all, and considered a genius in his field.]

I started studying when I was about seven years old, and my Father oversaw my education. [A pause.] I specialize in wounds and maladies inflicted by demons, but the basic practices are still the same.

[Kiriko nods, seeming to understand. He was around the same age when he first became interested, too. Though his Father would only teach him the fundamentals of biology and chemistry, and what was necessary to treat common injuries and illnesses, it was enough to help out with house calls. By the time they moved to New York, those teachings really helped him in Med School.]

Yeah... it was the same with me, too.

[But the second part? Completely unexpected.]

"Demons?" They have those where you're from? [At this point, he'll believe anything.]

[He nods.] They're much more common than you'd think... in my world, at least.

That's.. I don't even know what to say to that. I guess it could be possible where I'm from, but I've never considered it.

[He suddenly realizes now he could be getting toyed with, but.. at the risk of looking like a complete idiot, he trusts Yukio so far.]

Most people don't until they see one for themselves, but I suppose it's also possible that they don't exist at all where you're from.

I haven't seen any demonic activity in this place outside of Libitina's "hauntings" and occasional disturbances in the ruins. [He shrugs a bit. To be honest, he's rather annoyed by how little he's gathered on their situation.]

Maybe. I think my Mom believed in that sort of thing... gods and demons and so on. But I wouldn't know how to tell.

Thank you, but there are still ghosts lingering about. [Which count as a form of demonic activity themselves, but too low level to count as much of a threat.] I'll consider it a success when we can figure out just what Libitina is.
