The note Karla had left for her two days ago was enough of a reason for minor concern, in Gabrielle's opinion; her roommate wasn't in as regular a habit of going off somewhere on short notice as she was. Gabrielle usually packed light -- when you walked behind behside the horse, it was a good idea. Today, though, as she loaded up her travel satchel for a week and change (by Fandom time at least) at home, she was going to be a little more loaded down than usual.

To tell the truth, Gabrielle hadn't spent much time (read: any) in her dorm room since arriving. This wasn't due to any hostility on her part, just to being used to sleeping outdoors.
