Seeing the recipe explains my disappointment when I finally tried a crab cake when I was in Seattle. I was so exited about it (I love crabs) and then almost couldn't eat it, as I can't stand spicy food at all.

I was left wondering whether I'd just chosen the wrong place or it was actually meant to be like that.

So I guess that if I want non-spicy crab cakes I'll have to make them myself :-D
