Well despite all the last minute thrash going on around this vacation, we're now in Ireland. The plane flights were kinda weird in that Wes and I are not travelling together, an artifact of this originally being for business on my end and Wes wanting frequent flyer miles on United. Well, since I last posted we got to meet Wes's sister, who is very busy these days since she now owns her own dentistry practice, and her new boyfriend, who works in IT and is quiet and kind. We went out to dinner with them and Wes's parents the day before yesterday ( Read more... )

Well, we're in Oz now. Just got in this morning (Australia time of course).

This weekend was a lot of fun! Friday I took off and was a lazy butt, although I did mean to actually do chores. Friday night we had a quick dinner, finished our packing, and then head out to the airport to fly out to Chi-land. Yay!

Yesterday we got up at 9 to have a homemade bed and breakfast breakfast at 9:30. :) The breakfast was yummy - ham, quiche, a fruit salad, and a biscuit. Afterwards we headed off to Castillo de San Marcos (the fort of Saint Mark). It was built in the 1700s and never was defeated in battle. Yesterday was a pretty relaxed day. The only plans we had for the day were to eat lunch with my step-uncle Mike, his wife Sharon, and their daughter Patricia and head back to Gainesville afterwards.
