Thank goodness Sam is finally coming to terms with Frodo's condition - and heard Frodo tell his mother he couldn't come yet. I know it's been so hard for Sam but I was really starting to get pissed at him. I so hope that Frodo will get some pain relief and have more peace now - it has been hard to see him suffering so much. It's so nice to see the comfort that Eleanor and Frodo-lad and Goldie and Rosie bring to him.

And it was wonderful that Fatty got to visit - I think that really helped Frodo. I hope Merry and Pippin will be able to come in time for some goodbyes as well.

It's a hard subject matter to pull off - you're doing a great job.

LOL, yeah, Sam was being quite difficult about it. ;) Knowing that Sam has (finally) come around will comfort Frodo, at least!

Merry and Pippin will be back on the scene soon, I can promise that. :)

Aw, thanks!

Oh, I have tears in my eyes. Such a moving chapter, with Sam coming to terms with the inevitable. The end is nigh, Frodo is slipping away and Sam will let him go when the time comes.

So sad, so beautifully written.

At some point we all must come to terms with a loved-ones condition/death. Hard to read but beautifully written hon.
