I have no idea if this Buy Firefly fan campaign is going to work. I'd love to see new stories filmed in that 'verse, and I do believe that Fillion especially is still every bit as much in love with the show as the fans are. The bottom line to this is, Fox sucks. Mehhh ( Read more... )

Ooh, I'm marking these down. I wish fireflyfans wasn't so horribly unreadable. I started The Fish Job there but just couldn't keep on with their eyeburning white on black. Now that you've pointed out the LJ/FF I can finish!

Whoa! I just had a realization from reading Peptuck's prologue. Wash's death is completely unnecessary to the plot. Book's is necessary to move Mal to the anger and faith needed to get the truth but Wash, no, nothing would have changed if he'd lived. Except my happiness level of course. Yes, yes, it was to show how scary the danger of the Reavers was but I was already a believer, no need to kill Wash at that point.

*sigh*

Firefly, 5 years and I'm still ranting.

Wow. I totally missed that. You're absolutely right - Wash is just Whedon being Whedon.

I'm going to be ranting about this show for the rest of my life, I'm sure.

I would add a few to your recs list, if I may:

Big Damn Zombies, Sir, by shrift, which I tend to think of as the Best Firefly Story ever, if only for the voices. (Okay, and I badgered her until she wrote it.)

And Salieri's Firefly stories, particularly Utopia which is creepiness personified: it's about Reavers, and Jayne. ::twitch:: But so brilliant. She's troyswann on LJ.
