Oh Jack! He's so good at lying to himself, telling himself that he loves lots of people, and maybe it's true, but he's IN love with only one. Ianto knows, he sees Jack's fear of losing him, so he lets Jack tell him to stay home. That's true love!

Maybe one day Jack will stop lying to himself and admit how he really feels.

That's exactly what I wanted to show. It's a common thing in my stories, Ianto knowing Jack's heart and feeling better than him. Jack knows, but after heartbreak, it is my canon, that he has convinced himself that he doesn't do love any more. Ianto knows better! As always.

I think Ianto knows Jack better than Jack thinks he does and he's more than happy to cater to Jack's needs to help alleviate his insecurities about losing him.

Indeed. It makes perfect sense inside my head, because we sometimes cannot understand why Ianto is willing to give so much for Jack. It's great to work around that premise and see readers enjoying it.
