What's its approach to fanfic?

I say it's the future of fiction. Well, not that all fic will be Spuffy. :) But niche-y, innovative, linked, ever-changing, and experimental work. Mostly I'm just describing a lot of aspects that all of you will know (what is fanon, what is a drabble) and using examples from our favorite writers. It's respectful, if that's what you're asking. I have to say, until I started writing this, I didn't recognize the amazing innovations going on, in form, structure, and prose.
