1 - sueworld2003 does consistently good art using photo manips. Some of the images she did for the then named sexymermaid's Kept are beautiful, see icon. There is also a rather specialized sub genre of sculpting figures which to my mind, unless the intended result is comedy, is an incredible application of effort to little purpose but it is popular with plenty of people who are not-me. If you got to sue's recent entries you will see at least one link to someone's work in this area if you want to check it out. 2 - Did I point you at lilachigh's fics 'Business as usual' which is about the demon who runs a tea shop at the dump and 'cousin Arabella' which is about Spike's cousin who married a regurgitating Frovlaxx demon, both spun off throwaway lines. I have read one fic where Dracula repays the 11 pounds with interest and makes Spike rich enough to solve all Buffy's financial issues in S6 but cannot trace the thing. Perhaps SpuffyRealm's find a fic might help there

That's what I mean, the sort of Lydia Chalmers stuff, but also, anything that plays with mistakes.
I have one fic somewhere where Dawn and her friends are writing vampire fic (Dirk and Aurora?) and they come to Spike to ask him about vamp lore, and he scoffs at it.
There are many, many fics where Angel is Spike's sire - after all, it was three years before this was definitively contradicted in canon. You might want to ask on an Angel/Spike community for classics of the genre. There are also ten zillion fics which invent a vampire culture and history - I'd say Nan Dibble's Blood series is among the best of these.
(I don't think drabbles originated in fanfic, though fanfic has certainly popularized them.)
Like Sammywol I was going to mention Lilachigh's fics.
As for artwork - Good_Evil has just got some beautiful banners poster here for a fic challenge.
As Moscow Watcher mentioned WriterCon Europe had a banner challenge last summer - I did a sort of reverse challenge, and asked for one for a crossover fic I had in mind - you can see both responses in this post - I did indeed write the fic, and as that was the last full chapter it has both of them - one at the beginning and one at the end.

I got to remember the whole Fanged Four thing-- the "prequel" to the show.
