Another expression I didn't know. (Wow, your titles are so educational!) So I first thought it was going to be porn. Of course.

Sorry if I'm wrong but isn't there something wrong in "He squinted at Sherlock and when he didn’t seem to be hurt (except for his pride), John started to chuckle"? Maybe "since he didn’t seem to be hurt"? Or "when he saw Sherlock didn’t seem to be hurt"? :-)
