Het couples wear wedding rings on their left hand in the UK. Not sure about gay couples - I seem to recall that in the past it was more traditional for them to wear rings on their right hands but I think it's a matter of personal choice nowadays. I actually asked a friend about this when I was writing Something New and she said that she knew two gay couples, one of whom had their rings on their left and the other on their right. In the end I bottled out and simply put, "... sliding the band onto his finger"!

Honestly, as much as I'm looking forward to reading all these little wonders in the right chronological order one day, I enjoy having a seemingly random snippet from the big picture every day right now.
And I admit it bothers me a bit that I won't be able to get my daily fix from Thursday on for a whole week, due to a holiday (to which I'm looking forward to nevertheless). But internet in the hotel or via my smartphone is just too expensive to use it every day. But since I'm a happy addict, I'll probably try to get online after a few days anyway.
Well, I've got a couple of days left to eagerly wait for your updates, and I will happily read them all - no matter if they are sad or sweet or funny or something in between.

First I was a little confused here because in French we never call the ring finger this way, and I wondered why Sherlock had his ring on his middle finger, if it was a British thing, or maybe a gay thing. :D
That someone, anyone, would want to marry him is a strange thought alone but that that someone would be John is a miracle.
Aww. Insecure!Sherlock... And a nice nod to the conversation between John and Greg in Otherwise Engaged.
“Second thoughts?” Only half-joking.
Ah, insecure!John now. Can I say "Aww" again?
the events that led to John leaving him
Aaand another nod, to the brilliant I Watch You While You Sleep this time. I like the way you build your verse.
John leaving him now, after promising him forever would be intolerable and devastating.
For the last time (in this 221B), aww. Heartbreaking.
*reads the end*
Okay, I take back what I've just said. Awwww! Why don't you like this end, it's beautiful!
I love the "sherlock having thinky though" tag, and yay for the "marriage" tag! If you want to ( ... )

Oh Lord, yeah. The re-tagging. I still need to do that with the 'orgasms' tag as well. *needs a day with 48 hours*
