John wouldn’t do something though because after their first night just lying next to each other, the combination of agitation, not sleeping and not eating in three days caused Sherlock to throw up in the bathroom.
Well, that kind of kills the mood indeed.

“Let’s take it slow. I just want to hold you and kiss you and go to sleep next to you.”
Because he's afraid he could overwhelm Sherlock? That's why he went tense for a second? (I want to be sure I understand properly! :D)

I think it's "John made him breakfast and asked if he had slept last night." And I think the "talking about a deadly disease (no one has it though)" warning is not relevant today. Unless you talk about love. But in this case I think that both Sherlock and John have it. ;-)
