Because I didn't get any responses in my own post, I will be lazy here!lt_nanao_iseMay 6 2010, 16:47:45 UTC
It wasn't that Nanao had been busy. It's that she'd been busier. Busier than ever before to restore some semblance of order and organization amongst the officers of her division. And the fifth. And the ninth, and the third, as those had been the most prominently affected by this enormous upheaval. It was the fifth she worried about the most, for Momo's sake, and it was almost a guarantee that if her schedule allowed moments of free time, she could be found there to look after her friend and shoulder some of the duties if Momo wasn't feeling well
( ... )
Inoue had already forgotten what it was she was supposed to do. Daddy had said she was supposed to go somewhere, but she wasn't exactly sure where to go.
So she wandered, stopping every so often to have a nice conversation with a flower or a rock, none of which talked to her so she had to eat them. That was the way it was. Maybe Daddy had asked her to eat things!
Orihime sat in the field, pleased to have rediscovered her mission, happily eating grasses, bugs and rocks that would fit in her mouth. She looked up as someone came marching along to disturb her feast. She looked up with glazed eyes, staring at Nanao as she came closer. She looked familiar!
Perhaps this was Mommy, come to take her home? "Ouaaaaah!" She cried out in her best imitation of a whale. "Ouaaaaah! I'm a shark, Mommy!"
Spring had never seemed nicer. The cherry blossoms were beginning to fade in favor of young, yellow-green leaves that would darken in color as the season waned into summer. When the weather was good, it was almost a guarantee that Hisana would be out of doors, enjoying the sunlight on her fair skin and the way it warmed her dark hair. It was a good way to pass the time until the hour where Byakuya returned from his shinigami duties.
Hisana decided to pay the Thirteenth Division a visit. She still had yet to encounter Rukia, and if today proved to be as fruitless as the past others, she could at least say hello to Ukitake or Kaien and enjoy a cup of tea for a few moments before continuing her walk.
Orihime hated the outdoors. She hated the sun and the way it made everything so bright. And why did it have to be so gosh darned hot? A beat of sweat trickled down her back and she swiped at it with a hand. Orihime was irritated by the fact it tickled her. This wasn't fair.
She continued down the path, growing angrier with each step. That was when she saw Rukia coming her way. The jerk was dressed in some ugly clothes, different from her usual lack of style, but it was definitely her.
Orihime's blood began to boil. This was...competition! There only could be one. She scowled.
Orihime hated the sound loose clothes made when they flapped. She hated the color black and the way it made the infernal heat so much worse. Orihime looked up, shading her eyes from the sun, and saw two of her least favorite things perched on a nearby wall--a man in swishy, black clothes. She scowled.
Still, when your captain was now the soutaichou, and the responsibilities of the Third Division had become something more managerial, Kira felt he was in no position to argue. No, he didn't have time to argue.
He was rushed off his feet, in fact.
Which was why he no longer really looked where he was going any more, going from one place to another at full speed, his head down, because what was more humiliating than being a traitor's fukutaichou?
She recognized his clothing and sighed. It was not something she wanted to do, but orders were orders and Orihime had been ordered to interact with the shinigami here, despite her deepest wishes to do no such thing.
She stepped into place behind the vice-captain, hr deep sigh letting him know about her presence before anything else.
"Hello," Orihime said, her voice flat and uncaring. "How are you."
He almost dropped the folders he was carrying at the interruption, and, startled, turned around to face her.
Odd...they hadn't actually met before, had they? He recognised the Ryoka girl, there was no mistaking her after all the trouble she'd caused, but they were hardly close.
"I'm...a little busy. Have you lost your friends? I didn't realise they were here--"
Orihime folded her hands together behind her back, looking at Kira's folders as they fell to the floor.
"Oh. I'm sorry, am I bothering you?" She looked up at him, her face blank. "Who? No. They're not here. It's just me. Why, do you want to see them instead?"
Lazy days, watching the sakura blossoms falling. It was a beautiful place that Aizen had given them, but still it was a gilded cage. A gilded cage with sake in it.
And still Shunsui was puzzling how to make things up with Ukitake. He'd messed up, he knew, hurt his friend, and puzzling over how to make things better between them was obviously far more important than doing actual work.
He sipped his sake, frowning, and raised his eyes to the blue sky.
OoooooOooOOOOoh. The wriggly flower in his pony tail had caught her attention. She stared at it, watching it wriggle back and forth in the breeze, then she pounced, grabbing at it.
Mine! She thought, before she realised that the hair that the flower was in was attached to a rather large someone. She let out a cry if surprise, falling away from Shunsui and staring up at him, wild-eyed.
There was very little an old pro like Shunsui could miss. Apparently, derpy little redheads was exactly that thing. He hummed idly, as though he hadn't any care in the world, and just as she jumped for him--turned his head.
Well, apparently he'd noticed her after all. And beaming brightly.
Orihime stared up at Shunsui, then pulled her knees to her chest. He didn't seem to be angry at her, which she knew her daddy would have been. Inoue rested her chin on her knees, staring up at the Captain.
"Ummmm," she said. Was she Inoue-san? "Ummm." She looked away, then she shrugged. "Maybe!"

And really, oughtn't he to have been informed?
