Eleven O'Clock Movie Monster

I arrived in New Zealand at some ungodly hour this morning, having managed some sleep, and also a few movies:
  • When I saw the trailers for Ted (2012) it looked fun in a purile way, but it was surprisingly smart; very reminiscent of Family Guy but without the random asides.

The interpretation is just another chapter in the murky history of the character. It seems to be a polarising feature of the film.

Fellowship drags?

I dont think I have ever heard anyone call Verhoeven's Total Recall "plausible." The Remake must be nutso!

I haven't watched Fellowship in a while, so I may be getting some drift from the book, which I have been known to skip when re-reading.

I found Verhoeven's world entirely plausible; moreover the plot of Verhoeven's villain is basically the same as Chinatown and the scheme he runs to expose the Resistance is plausible. Also, the memory/reality thing is ambiguous. The only thing that makes it ambiguous in the remake is that the world and the villain's plan would only make sense in a dream.
