Second, there was a certain commonality between that Hollowpoint game and Colin's Bulldogs! game the next night. Good players, good GM, good sysetm, but something was off. In the case of Bulldogs!, it was that the scenario essentially started all of the PCs in conflict with one another, which doesn't work so great in FATE. In Hollowpoint, it may have been (as I said on story-games.com) a disconnect between the stated premise and the mechanical reality. But again, y'know, at the very least it was hanging out with four cool friends, so it was going to be a good time no matter what. Thanks for running it -- that was one of my (many) must-play games of the weekend.

I really don't think I set it up very well. I think the players need sheets explaining the dice mechanic and perhaps giving hints for use. I'll look up that SG thread. I'll definitely be trying Hollowpoint again.
