Santa's Return I

Jul 27, 2010 21:57

My Sunday afternoon Buckets game was an impromptu FATE game pitting a the members of a super-villianous world government against Santa. I instructed the seven players to make characters with a weakness, five aspects, and an abbreviated skill pyramid as shown below. I suggested a number of topics for aspects, including: a superpower, an item of gear, a set of minions, a relationship with another PC, and a relationship with a nemesis. The last two were mandatory. There was no master skill list from which the skill pyramid was constructed, which made for some very interesting skills. The first two characters were as follows:

Major Catastrophe

Aspects
I killed the Justice League!
It's a Catastrophe, not a Crisis!
Highly experimental battlesuit
Catastrophes happen!
I have people everywhere!

Weakness
Duct Tape

Skill Pyramid:
Ultimate Fighting 5
Total Certainty | Master Planning
Insidious Monologue-ing | Fabulous Wealth | Villainous Intent

Global Crisis

Aspects
Cloning factory
Billionaire
Corporate Scum (Minions)
Killed Aquaman
It's a Crisis, not a Catastrophe!

Weakness
Is a Scrooge

Skill Pyramid:
Control Undead
Total Certainty | Unlimited Resources
Corporate Takeover | Darkened Skies | Produce evil stunt double

These two were obviously at odds throughout the game, to hilarious effect.
