Satsuki for dinner

May 30, 2009 11:15

Last night harlzen and I made a visit to Satsuki in Subiaco.  For those who don't know, they are they sister restaurant to Ha Lu in Mount Hawthorne.  Satsuki specialises in sushi in the Edomae style which relies on appealing as much to the visual senses as it does to the tastebuds.

Glad you're enjoying these reviews! I forgot to bring my camera this time, but photos are something I want to add to my reviews to motivate people (to try or not to try!)

It's nice to have unagi that isn't that smoked variety that you get from the usual places.

Have you had lots of different styles of unagi while in Japan?

Hmm, not that many...how many different styles are there?

I've had the standard grilled unagidon (which I love) and also anago (the kind you get at sushi places).

Hm..... should see if I can treat my sister and brother-in-law to a meal there, or something. I'm sure they'd appreciate the sashimi. ^^

They don't specialise in sashimi (I had heard that Jaws Mint might be better for that but I've not yet experienced that place myself). But yes, it's definitely got yummy food. They also have quite a large selection of sake. Kekeke... but again, pricey.
