The thing Ryo hated--no, really, hated--about Kame was his competitive streak. Sometimes Ryo felt like they were playing a giant game of 'Anything you can do' with their lives, professional and private. It just wasn't in Kame's nature to give a little, to bend or to back off--when things didn't go his way, he just put his head down and worked harder. It was like some kind of twisted pride, making everything into a competition, and one he couldn't back away from. Neither of them could, really. Backing down wasn't in Ryo's nature either.

Another thing Ryo hated, and this was crucial here, was that Kame was a fucking tease.
