thanks to this, i just had to go and look up the etymology for "glomp," lol. possibly a combination of "glom" and "jump" apparently... idk how that came to be since the number of times i've seen "glom" actually used anywhere is ZERO. also, lol, as i type this, the dictionary doesn't even recognize "glom" as an english word and gives me the red underlining, lololol.

Also, that article is pretty interesting. I know that many of my friedns have issues with 'text speak'. Actually, one was so bold as to tell someone to never text them again if theycouldn't employ proper grammar in a message. So. Yeah. |: I mean, it's like a phone call. You use the vernacular thats easiets, aye? I figure that I can get away with text speak becuase people will just assume it's me having typos as usual. LOL!

i would argue against the claim that 'slang is urban' but other than that. maaa, once there's some standardization, it's easier to read probably.
