"Come on, come on. I think he's coming!" Yamapi hissed in a combination of excitement, devilment, and nervous glee while peering around the corner. He didn't know what was taking Toma so long. He had been just as enthusiastic at the beginning--hell, it was mostly Toma's idea in the first place--Yamapi couldn't understand why he'd be dragging his feet now.

"Toma! Hurry up! What's taking so long? He's going to find us," Pi finally turned around to check for himself, and belatedly realized that the furtive noises behind him weren't stifled giggles, but stopgap efforts at controlling panic.

"Pi," Toma whispered while yanking on the rope desperately. "Pi, I think it's stuck."

Yamapi didn't like the hysteria rising in Toma's eyes because it was contagious, so instead he scolded, "Why didn't you say something sooner?" in a whisper and grabbed the rope too.

"Hasejun's going to kill us." Toma tried not to wail, or to at least wail quietly, but quiet wasn't very good for conveying this particular brand of despair
