I HATE how things are suppose to be "for boys" or "for girls". This is the 21st century already, can't we stop putting gender roles on our kids? Girls have to like barbies and boys have to like trucks? I suppose when your Anna grows up she is suppose to be married and pregnant instead of being a scientist or whatever career she wants. We also teach boys that they have to be rough and tough and then wonder why they grow up to be such assholes. Can we just drop the gender games and just be who/what we want to be.
Agree. Anna has, until late, been pretty neutral-balanced: loved cars, dinos, legos, Star Wars, Zelda, and more boy-centric costumes (pirate, dino, Viking) Last 2 years , though, we've sensed a shift. She's far more fashion-conscious... likes Barbie and Liv dolls... wants long hair, etc.
r, i am over here in illinois sobbing with you, because olin's entered that era too, where he is embarrassed over EVERYTHING. so sad!
sigh.
also! they do have those hoodies (and MORE! "for girls!") on zulily.com - they send daily emails, and MouthMan (who makes those) is featured sometimes. they have them for something like 40% off the list price, which is nice. i got olin a gecko one and he loves it.
Hey! Great to hear from you again. Thanks for the recommend - I already subscribe to Zuilily and HauteLook daily email alerts! Love both sites. A lot to wade through, but some real deals to be had. Considering ordering Crocs from Zu right now, and an order of Tea Collection clothing for Anna should arrive on my doorstep many day now!

Are you familiar w/ Tea? Love the quality. A bit pricey, but I've only ordered during the big semi-annual sales: http://www.teacollection.com/boys-clothing
