In retrospect, I see that my life was sort of "on hold" when I was working for my last company. I liked the company, hated the job, but toughed it out -- I'd go to work, find ways of not going nuts, come home, try and relax, then do it all over again ( Read more... )

I'm trying ... it's hard to overcome years of being told that I can't do what I love. Hell, I've been told that so much that I'm not even sure I know what it is that I love to do!

true enough ... I need to get back in the loop with Monster, dice, all the other job search thingies I was once on.

There are a few things that I like & that I'm good at, but *damn* the market is saturated for these thigns. At least around here it is.

the paycheck's the main thing. may not be sexy, may not be fun... but ya gotta eat. find something that pays but keep those applications going out. it may take some time, dude, but you'll find something that suits you. meantime, you'll be earning the cash & getting to buy neat stuff. remember you can quit anything at any moment if something better comes along. plus, any prospective employer will love that you've already got a job & you want to quit it to come work for them-!

heh, good point ... that's what I was trying to do with last company, even though I hated the job itself ... the company was so wonderful, I wanted to stay with them for a long time. Oh But No!
