I am empathic to a degree, but I'm usually pretty well able to shield myself. And talking to people over the phone introduces a level of indirection that makes it easy to not personalise things.
But rude behaviour ... it's unconscionable, IMO. I've gotten pretty good at not taking things personally, but when it happens over and over and over ... it gets old, you know?
not that you take it personally but that you absorb some of that feeling into yourself and thats why you feel so strongly against it because it intrudes into your inner space. not that it would be right to be rude otherwise.
I agree totally. Knowing you, Anam, you tend to internalize things, including this. You take in that feeling of someone being rude to you, and even though you might not 'take it personally', it affects you on an internal personal level.
Thus was my suggestion of the visualization of, 'Pushing them out of an airplane' so that you could possibly be rid of them internally as well. If that one is not working, then find one that you are comfortable with. It really might help you out...
