Who: Reza & Kamil What: Giving each other a few more cuts, one or two more scars. When: Some random day Where: Black Order Headquarters Warnings: Some blood, some profanity Rating: PG-13
Reza never held back, it satisfied her to go after him with everything she had and fight him. There were a few tactics of the dirty kind she hadn't used on him. Yet. Like using her looks to pull him off guard, but she was saving that for another day.
He'd knocked her down with that last blow, sending her across the floor. Reza stared at the ceiling disoriented for a moment. Fuck, that had hurt.
Kamil decided to sit next to her while she recovered somewhat. He was positive that had disoriented her, and it wouldn't do to have her mode so fast and just make her disoriented even more. He stretched his legs out to prevent any cramps or muscle spams later on - but he would be hella sore later on.
"Didn't think I'd send you across the floor like that, sorry," he stated, throwing a look at her as he stretched his arms, putting his sheathed swords on the ground next to him.
Reza shifted her eyes and gave him a carefully guarded look, "It's fine." Kamil was the General obviously his powers excelled her own, so a little blow from him could take out a soldier or knight who was not on their guard. Reza sat up slowly.
Her stomach hurt and would bruise but that was just fine.
"Give yourself another minute and then we can go, maybe grab something to eat too after we clean up." Kamil looked up around absentmindedly, noting how no was there, which pleased him. He had ordered two guards away, and had his own guards block all the entrances to the place. Even though Reza wasn't living with him anymore, who said someone was allowed to watch him practice with his Knight? Here, his word overrode theirs, even though blood was thick.
He let his arms drop and ran a hand through his hair, "You don't have a set time to get back, do you? Because I did not give your mother a time to have you back, only a time to have you here." The lunch could count as Black Order business, ha.
"..." Reza looked over at Kamil again and shook her head, "I'm not hungry." Or at least she didn't want to eat with Kamil. She felt oddly alienated from Kamil and on the edge. He wasn't Kamil, he was the General and the resentment from all those years was there.
"......" Well, so much for spending time with her.
"Okay, so then I guess we can clean up, talk a bit, and then I'll send you back." That last part was said with deep regret because, even as General, he could tell that locking her up almost 24/7 and letting her out for some things wasn't good for her. If anything, it was as if the Blackwells were unraveling the work he had done, as General and as Kamil, and the control was disappearing bit by bit. Soon enough he probably wouldn't be able to control her at all, and then of course the criticisms would come.
But he never let people's opinions get to him too much. It was bad for him and he didn't want the twins worrying.
It was complicated but it also hurt, she was trapped and there wasn't any way out. So that was all there was to it, she couldn't just sit down and pretend that it wasn't the way it was.
Reza didn't answer, she just shrugged. She didn't need his pity, he was part of the Order, what else could she have expected? That he'd helped her? Ha. Her mother would mock her if she knew such thoughts. If you didn't help yourself no one did, becoming reliant on Kamil had been a mistake.
Kamil thought about getting up, taking his swords and walking off, but he never did like to give up. Not when there were there were other tactics.
He moved one sword so they were both together, shifting his body so he was closer to her. His hand went up and rested on her cheek, letting General Kamil rest and the normal, human Kamil was the one talking. "Is she keeping you locked up all the time?"
Yeah, maybe it would have been better if he had, however Reza wasn't expecting that gesture and she flinched slightly. For a moment she was confused as to how to reply but she stilled a little and leaned into it.
He noticed her silence, and let it be. After a moment, he leaned in to set a kiss on her forehead, "You don't deserve the blame. If anything, they should blame me. Don't let them get to you, don't let them beat you down. You're stronger than that."
You're stronger than that. How many times had someone told him that while he was grieving over his father, and the months after? But it worked. And he hoped it could work for Reza.
