Oooooh, you are good at opening lines. Even the fics from fandoms I don't read!
Like, I really like this one, weirdly: "They’re in a stupid bar in some no-name town in Ohio, just over the Pennsylvania border." It just sets a great scene.
Aww, thank you! I'm flattered that you think so! <3
And I'm especially happy that you liked that one! That was one of those lines that came to me first, before I even started the fic. IDK how it works for you usually, but I actually find that I do that a lot, where I'll have one line to start out with, and then I just kind of go from there. ;)
Ooooooh. I sometimes get lines on their own, but normally stories come to me with a scene or a moment and the rest is building up/down to/from that moment. (Or working really hard to make it seem like the whole fic wasn't written for that moment so it appear more evened out.)
Oh yes, I've definitely been there, too. ^_~ I suppose it's sort of the same thing, because lots of times whatever line is it that comes to me first isn't actually the first line? So I have that same problem of working up to and then away from it, and hoping I can somehow make things even out along the way. ;)
Yeah, it's weird, on the one hand, it almost feels like that number should be higher? But considering I spent at least a few months last year "between fandoms", I'm good with it. :D
