This is so sad. You don't indicate how long after the events of CoE takes place, but I'm assuming its not long. Although I'd like to think Jack remembers Ianto with fondness, I'd also like to think that Ianto would also want Jack to love having been in love enough to repeat the experience. I don't think he'd want Jack roaming the universe mourning his loss thousands of years later. I think Ianto would want Jack to mourn a reasonable amount of time and them hold fond memories and use those to make himself happy, not sad. I hope that is what this story envisions for Jack when he says, "He'll move on." Eventually. Yeah.

Absolutely - that's exactly what I meant by that line at the end. As much as Ianto wants Jack to remember him, he also wants Jack to be happy again. So yeah, that's definitely what I was going for here - Jack using Ianto's words as inspiration to do exactly what I think Ianto would have wanted for him.
