That being said, so much love for thinky fic from Nezumi's perspective. I feel like a lot of canon lets us see into Shion's head, but not Nezumi's nearly as much, so fics like this are great *____* I think I liked this bit best:
Nezumi tells himself he’s repaying a debt, and he is, but sometimes it feels like that debt, that quantity, that volume - it feels like it increases every day.
He's so concerned with keeping relationships even and sterile and unconnected, and that really highlights that in him.
Also I of course love the image of Nezumi sitting there with Shion's feet in his lap XD even if it's not a domestic scene, the image in itself is really...sweet ♥

And you know, reading your fics and watching the series, I almost would have thought it'd be Shion that I'd really want to write for, but I think because we do get to see so much from his perspective already, it sort of made me more interested in Nezumi? (I'm actually really curious as to how much back story there is on Nezumi in the novels. *_* Do you know if they're all told from Shion's POV, or if it ever switches?)
But anyway, I'm really glad that you liked this, and that it worked and all of that. ^_^
(And guh, that episode yesterday was so good. *_*)

That said, I liked the quiet calm of this. It felt almost mundane, to watch a person sleep, and yet for a boy like Nezumi, it would obviously mean something tremendous, and I liked how you highlighted that.

And thank you! I'm really glad you liked this. ^_^ For some reason this image of Nezumi watching Shion sleep just seemed to jump out at me, and I'm really glad it worked. I definitely think for Nezumi, just having Shion there with him is a huge thing, and I sort of saw this as a smaller manifestation of that. Or something. ^_~

<3 (Also I am glad that this is not the circus and you are not running in its direction! ;) lol)
ETA: When I said that I have no idea - I meant that I understand what you wrote, but obviously not the back story. I did not mean that you were unclear lol :D Just...clarifying. Because you were clear!

Seriously though, thank you for reading! ♥

Yay for Nezumi/Shion. It's always hard to write for a new fandom, but I think you did a really good job. I really like the whole idea of debt/repayment of debt, because it's very Nezumi-like to think in such terms (perhaps due to the way the West Block is). And, I think that although Nezumi protects Shion, physically, from day to day, it's Shion that saves his soul (if that makes sense). Well done. <3

And yay! I'm really glad you enjoyed this, and that the themes worked with the characters and all of that. For some reason that debt repayment thing really struck me as being important to Nezumi to hold onto, you know?
And I absolutely think Shion saves his soul. *_* That's really what I was trying to convey at the end there, so I'm extra glad you made that connection! ♥

Just wanna tell you that I really like the atmosphere in here. The little things that Nezumi noticed--about Shion, the books--it all contributes to it :3
Oh and I like how Nezumi compared of their differences with books on the shelves XD
Anyway thanks for the read <3

I'm so glad you liked this, and that all those little details seemed to fit. :) I'm kind of fascinated by Nezumi and his books, so that seemed like a fun thing to play around with. Thanks so much for reading, and for the comment! ^_^
