I let my son watch only two things - Wiggles and Sesame Street. It started 3 months ago when we started nebulizing him. When we first started he was generally fine the first few minutes and then he would get bored and cry and struggle so I had to find something to occupy him - the nebulizing usually takes 10-15 minutes. I put on the Wiggles and he loved it and would sat still. I felt guilty for a while until I started noticing that he was copying words and sounds from the shows and would start dancing when he hears a familiar song. Then I started feeling better. I also read a study that five yrs old is when you really should start scheduling TV. Also, my son does go back and forth to his play area when he's watching tv. He's not entirely "hypnotized".
