I'm so glad you read it and liked it! I thought it was a good, sweet book, even though it made me cry in public. I knew it was going to hurt, but I trusted him enough from his previous books to read it (Looking for Alaska, WHY!!!).

John Green was a chaplain in a children's hospital as a fairly young man - which I think must have been extremely brutal on him, because from what I can tell he's another NF that gets overwhelmed by other people's moods/emotions a lot. I think one of the compelling things about his writing is that he genuinely honest-to-god cares about everything his characters are feeling. And also this was the book that he's been waiting to write for a number of years.

I really liked that about this book. Everyone matters!

I can see that. I'm glad it was my introduction to his writing.

I know you told me about John Green years ago. But I was waiting for this one!
