You know, I do not mind if politicians have a little something-something on the side, or are not the most upstanding example of humanity, but I resent like hell their dishonesty and hypocrisy.
You have to be some sort of low-life to be in politics, for the most part, but you can be a freakin' honest lowlife. Europe and other nations had them for years. But when they start lying and covering-up, everyone sinks into the cesspool.
You sound like you're feeling normal again! I agree about these "Do as I say, not as I do" Republicans. I don't want to be like "them" either! I'd rather live by moral values, not values dictated to me by a hypocrite. I don't think moral values can be proscribed by any political party. I belong to the "live and let live" party.
What kills me is the fact that his own representatives at first said they didn't know where he was, then said he was hiking in the Appalachians. Then his wife and kids were at the beach and his wife said she didn't know where he was but that she "wasn't worried," then come to find out that she DID know where he was and has known about the affair for the last five months.
Living in SC for the last five years, I wasn't a big fan of Sanford for a lot of reasons to begin with. This was just the proverbial icing on the cake. And yes, I think he should resign.

"We only make the rules, we don't have to follow them." "The Constitution is just a piece of paper."
And since his wife doesn't live with him anymore, she might not have been 100% positive where he was, but I bet she had some thoughts on the subject. Really can't blame her for not saying, "He's off with his cause of divorce, but his employees must have known what was up when the trail dried up at the airport in Atlanta.
BTW, does that mean he used a passport with a fake name? Do they still release passenger lists after the flight has gone? I don't know and I'd love to.
Freaking Narcissistic sociopaths is the perfect description of what we have in Sanford. And I get to live in SC!!!
