Thanks for all your good thoughts and warm wishes--it helps so much, it really does.

He's feeling a bit better today, although the pain is still pretty intense. They're keeping him medicated to help with that, but it still hurts.

Please continue to keep us in your thoughts--I'll post updates as I can.

Tell Paul today will likely be the worst of it. By tomorrow he'll start feeling less pain in the foot. When they discharge him home they should give him some fairly high-powered pain meds. Make sure he takes them when he needs to. Men can be all macho about pain meds but it helps patients heal faster to keep their pain under control.

What lolleeroberts said. As someone quite familiar with pain ::wry grin::, he needs to take his pain meds on a consistent basis until the pain is gone! I'll continue keeping the Good Thoughts(tm) coming from here and since I'm sending in an email to church today I'll ask them to add him to the prayer list.

Hugs and good thoughts for both of you. And definitely make sure he takes pain meds. No point in him trying to be "tough" and being in pain because of it, but I'm sure you already know that.
