You posted a birthday greeting to the bookworm general? Awesome!! He never gets enough decent press for being Washington's right hand man - and probable best friend. It sucks that the history channel always has something to say for Gates... but almost never a mention of Knox.

it took me a minute to figure out you read this post. I thought I had it locked but I guess I didn't. anyway, I checked out your profile and you seem pretty interesting and you not only know who gen. henry knox was but you know about him! that makes you super cool in my book! so anyway, I'd like to add you to my FL, is that cool with you?
I found your posts by searching on defense language institute. Your site looked especially neat, so I read some posts, and just had to respond about General Knox!
Like you, I'm also a history buff and I really like war history - from all over the world and especially our revolutionary and civil wars.
I was 98G-Russian in the army. Of course I love languages and I have lots of foreign buddies that help me learn their lingo. My wife is also Russian - so I get lots o' practice that I never got at DLI! :) If you don't mind me asking - what was your army mos/language?
Anyway... I won't tie up your thread with a rehash of my profile. I'm just so elated to find another interesting former linguist and my joy manifests into sheer curiousity! I will definitely add you to my FL and be checking your posts!
