Ok so I am looking at replacing my 27" tv and upgrading to some HD picture goodness.  I have found this site: www.avsforum.com and it has been way too helpful in making me not want another CRT tv, though I must say that I am still enamored with the Samsung TX-R3080WH and at the same time the Philips 30PW9100D as well.  Preference being the Samsung.

Looking at the Olevia again, I agree that the lack of HDMI support is a downer. Sadly the only Olevia lcd that I could find that had HDMI support was the 37" one that really was out of my price range (cheapest was 999 at newegg). Also noticed that the Olevia doesn't have a built in tuner, least not explicitly stated. So that makes me wonder whether or not I'd need to get a HD box to make sure that I would be receiving true HD. I already know that I'll have to get a new cable box from the devil (read: Comcast) so who knows about that
